Obituary for Troy Lee Taylor

Troy Lee Taylor was born on October 8, 1953, to the late Silas and Ethel Taylor. He transitioned peacefully to be with the Lord on October 28, 2018. He attended Madison County Schools and graduated from West High School in 1971.

He accepted Jesus Christ as his personal savior at an early age and was a member of Blairs Chapel (Medon, TN) until moving to Nashville. He attended Tennessee State University where he received his BA in Agriculture in 1976. After graduating, he became employed at USDA as a Soil Conservationist. Mr. Troy remained employed until he retired in 2014.

Troy Lee Taylor married his College Sweetheart, Phyllis Shaw on April
24, 1976. From this loving union, four beautiful daughters were born.
Christy Cannon, Brandy (Franklin) Campbell, Reanata Goodwin, and
Tracey Taylor.

Troy also leaves to cherish his memories, five sisters, Viola Taylor, Hazel (Lonnie) Fuller, Mildred Savage, Christine Frank, and Fannie Sealey who preceded him in death, four brothers, Willie (Hazel) Savage and Silas (Lois) Lacy, James Savage, and Robert Savage who all proceeded him in death. Five granddaughters, Kennedy Taylor, Kamden Cannon, Kamiyah Orr, Zoe Goodwin, and Kaylee Campbell. Three God-daughters Whitney Nichols, Britney Nichols, and Shanita Edwards. One God-son, Marvin LaTroy Amerson. A host of nieces, (including Jackie Hayes and Tameika McBride in whom he helped in their upbringing) nephews, cousins (including Valerie Taylor who selflessly assisted in his caregiving) and a very special family friend and church member, who assumed the role of his father, Lester Love.

In 1995, he joined World Overcomers Outreach Ministries Church under the leadership of Apostle A.R. Williams. After becoming a
member, he began serving in the helps ministry as an usher. He was dedicated to this team for nearly 20 years until he was no longer physically able.
